1. Reload the Page

As ERR_CACHE_MISS can occur if Chrome fails to detect the cache of the website you are trying to access, reloading the page can help. So, simply click CTRL + F5 keys together to hard refresh the page. And then check if the error is resolved.

Otherwise, just close the entire window and then reopen it. Most of the time, reloading the page solves this issue.

2. Clear the Browser’s Data

Not clearing browsing data is one of the reasons for ERR_CACHE_MISS notification. So, to solve it, you can try to clear the browser’s data. To do this –

  • Open Google Chrome and click on the three dots at the top-right corner
  • Now, click on Settings
  • From there, navigate to the Clear Browsing Data option and click on it
  • Then, click on Clear Data

3. Update the Browser

  • At first, you need to click on the three dots at the right-most corner of the Google Chrome browser
  • Then, locate the option Settings and click on it to continue
  • From there, locate About Chrome and click on it
  • Once you are on this page, you will see a list that has the information regarding the version of Chrome you are using.
  • If you are using an outdated version, then you will see an option saying Update Chrome
  • Click on the Update Chrome option and continue with the on-screen instructions

Once the procedure is complete, make sure to restart the browser so that the changes can take place. Now, check if the error is there or not.

4. Disable the Browser Extensions

Sometimes, the extensions you add to the browser clash with some sites. And, that can result in several errors including the ERR CACHE MISS. So, you can try to disable the extensions and check for this error. The steps for disabling the browser extensions are as follows –

  • At first, click on the three dots at the upper-right corner of Chrome and a list of options will appear.
  • From there, click on Settings
  • Once in the Settings window, you will find an option saying More Tools. Click on that.

  • Now, you will be able to see the list of extensions you have. From here, you have to right-click on each extension and select Disable.

5. Reset the Network Settings

This is another fix you can try out if the ERR_CACHE_MISS is bothering you. Resetting the network setting can be a little complicated if you are not very tech-savvy, so try to follow the steps carefully.

  • To begin, click on the Windows button and type cmd in the search bar. You will find the Command Prompt.
  • Click on the Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator from the options
  • Now, you will find a dialogue box. In the box, you have to type the following commands and click on Enter after each. The commands are –
ipconfig/release | ipconfig/all | ipconfig/flushdns | ipconfig/renew | netsh int ip set dns | netsh winsock reset | ipconfig renew | ipconfig renew

Once you successfully run these commands, the network settings will reset. Restart the PC after it and check if the error persists.

6. Reset Browser Settings

If none of the above methods help then you can try to reset the browser settings. Sometimes this fix helps with ERR CACHE MISS.

  • Open Google Chrome and navigate to Settings
  • Then, click on Advanced and then on Reset Settings
  • Finally, click on Reset to execute the fix

7. Disable Cache System

The last fix you can try is disabling the Cache system. Try this method only if all the above ones fail. To do so –

  • Open Google Chrome and go to Settings
  • Then, click on More Tools and then go to Developer Tools
  • Now, open the Chrome Dev Tool on the page where you came across the ERR_CACHE_MISS message
